Our Plans
After we purchased Olieta back in October 2019 it was our intention to sail her out to the Ionian islands in Greece in the spring / summer of 2020.
Well amongst other things and "Corona Virus" these plans had to be put on hold.
However this delay did mean that I had the opportunity to work through Olieta; firstly servicing her from top to bottom and indeed mending and replacing equipment that was failing due to neglect by the previous owner. The most expensive of this being a complete replacement of the standing rigging.
Also though it allowed me time to fit Olieta out to our specification suitable to her future as our home in the Mediterannean. High on my list was solar power to keep the batteries charged when living at anchor together with a mains inverter suitable to power the little luxuries i.e Carol's hairdryer.
Most of this work I undertook myself but a few I left to the professionals. Those being:-
Replacement of standing rigging - Tate Marine of Eastbourne.
Fit second chart plotter and radar - P T Marine of Brighton.
The jobs that I did I will detail on a separate page.
